Took my sister out to Anza Borrego yesterday for a flower hunting trip.
We drove up Indian Gorge to Indian valley and then over to Egg Mountain to have lunch. Flowers were amazing!!

Nice shot Bob. Is that from Egg Mountain? I am hoping to head out on Monday for the day with a non desert loving friend that I have been trying to convert for a few years. He loves nature and the mountains but I can't quite get him to realize the beauty of the desert. I think it is a green thing. Then we are off to backcountry ski and camp in Yosemite for 10 days. Can't wait!!!!

Have a great trip up to Yosemite. Sounds great
We are organizing a work group trip to the Mud caves in a week.
Should get some good pics.

Best,
Bob

Thanks Bob. I plan to have a great time and way to give back with the work group. I will share some pics and a report from next Monday if I make it out to the desert again before we leave and if you like snow and mountains and waterfalls, I'll send you a link to my Picasa page to see some of those when I return.

Funny, but I prefer desert camping and hiking to the forests.
Not that they aren't nice but the Desert is wide open and usually you can see for miles.

When we camped a few years back up at Pfeiffer in Big Sur, I really didn't like it.
Sure it was beautiful but it felt closed in to me.
Not to mention there were people everywhere.

That being said, I did a Sierras backpacking trip to Heart Lake last summer and that was beautiful. I would do that again in a heartbeat.
