Spent Thursday Night in West Mortero Wash, and headed to Indian Hill on Friday. Luckily I had cell phone coverage becasue I could still "work" with my new iphone. Hung out at the trailhead most of the day "working" while the kids played around. We headed to Dolmite mine Saturday afternoon, and then camped in Jojoba Wash. Great trip! probably won't be heading out for a while because my daughter starts Softball.

campsite in west mortero wash

The mighty Ocotillo

I love Friday office days

The kids starting to get into photography

This cave is probably the most extensive cave I have ever seen

this shaman's cave has to be somehwere around here

just like dad, taking pics

I think we will be coming back here!

checked out the Dolmite mine

and then Jojoba Wash

usually the smoke trees are scraping my truck, this time it was the ocitillo

I can't believe you made it up that section past the water tower...that sucked in my crew cab diesel truck without a camper. Your kids are troopers, nice trip report!

The bighorn sheep we saw made it! My kids were so excited.

I scouted at the hill past the water tower for quite a while and almost turned around. My kids said "go for it dad" so I went for it. I actually couldn't believe how smooth it went. When we crested the hill and drove for a bit that's when we saw the bighorns, so i was so glad we went for it. There is another rutted out section in jojoba wash about twice as long that I decided not to attempt.

FYI, for next time, there is a detour, just go around to the mine rd that is east. You can see the entrance/exit at the top of the rutted section.
