Howdy. I am new to this forum and am stoked to have found one dedicated to a place I love so much. I have been to Borrego too many times to count but I need help on a issue I have not ventured too far into. I always backcountry down in the badlands or other low elevation location and I want to experience something different. Does anyone have any suggestions on high elevation places to camp in Anza Borrego. I am open to anything and have very little limit on getting there. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to forums!
Some of the higher elevation areas in ABDSP that are accessible by vehicle are Culp Valley and Blair Valley. They will typically have a 10 degree cooler difference than the lower areas of the park. For hiking/backpacking you can head up to many of the mtn peaks such as Whale Peak or Sombrero Peak. The north end of the park has many opportunities also such as Rabbit and Villager Peaks.

I agree Culp Valley is significantly cooler than Borrego Valley but for me this allows June camping but not regular July/August camping. For me you need a hike with either a predawn start or my preference a night hike for the lower elevations. Rabbit, Villager, and Whale are all good choices. Indian Head is borderline. 6582 (Dawn's) probably should only be attempted by someone who does not need this information (advanced desert hiker).
